Challenge
The brief was simple on paper and complex in reality: go beyond basic event documentation, capture the ideas and stakes of the conference, and deliver a documentary-style film and cinematic trailer that could travel to people who weren’t there—without losing the immediacy of being in the room.
What we did
From our studio base in Cambridge, we treated the conference as a story with a beginning, middle and afterlife. We planned and delivered full AV coverage, combining multi-camera capture, clean sound and live moments on site with staged interviews off stage to frame the context and purpose. We then cut a documentary-style film, a cinematic trailer and supporting assets, focusing on the energy, intellect and intent behind the event rather than just its schedule.
Outcome
The final pieces became more than a record of what happened: they distilled the conference’s core ideas into a watchable narrative that could be shown to internal and external stakeholders and still feel immediate. The Library of Congress left with a film and trailer that extended the life of the event far beyond the day itself—and a template for how future conferences can be turned into stories rather than just highlight reels.
